Reconnection

When the wings of wonder yearn for flight
When luster is lost, and truth runs trite
And you’re tired of chewing on the cud
And sludge builds up within your blood
If the air around you starts to stale
And your schedule is looking like a jail
Then you’re living on the leash of time
And the wind’s not waiting for your chime

Outdoors, a wider world abides
In the wilderness, a whisper hides
So reach your roots, and seize the earth
To take it’s wealth, and give it worth
Yes, when buried by the sand, seems youth
A mountain serves a sharp egg tooth
How poignantly it pokes a hole
To help you hatch a songbird in your soul

So step through the open door
It’s all out there to explore
      Look around, there’s always more
      To see

So, go, discover what you may
      Let your reflection fade away
To fill your window with the day
      Take it in

      Reconnection!

There are glories that entreat your glance
There’s music asking you to dance
And the fountain shall, to each, avail
If you hike your grail on up the trail
So draw some breath, expand your cage
Let nature reset the stage
With a view to open up your eyes
Reminding you of your true size

On a bluebird’s tail, apply thy salt
Shine light into a shadow’s vault
A shame, to leave a lover dressed
Get out, go fill your treasure chest
There are places you are meant to be
Wonders you are meant to see
And you know it when you do
This is meaning, this is you

      Step through the open door
      It’s out here to explore
      Look around, there's always more
      To see

So, go discover what you may
      Let your reflection fade away
To fill your window with the day
      Take it in
